Toyota I_Site Wins Computer Weekly’s Enterprise Software Award 2013

Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) takes the Enterprise Software Award in the private sector category and the title Best of Show for Toyota I_Site as the overall winner of all categories.

Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) yesterday received the 2013 Computer Weekly European User Award in Enterprise Software at the Cloud World Forum, National Hall Olympia in London. The event honors European IT professionals that have excelled in their approach to networking, storage, security, business software and datacenters. TMHE’s Toyota I_Site was granted the Enterprise Software Award by IT professionals for bringing fleet management one step further.

Today’s challenge in material handling is to optimise forklift truck fleet, improve the logistics processes, increase flexibility and reduce overall energy consumption. Toyota I_Site collects data from the forklift, sends it to a central database via wireless technology and regular mobile networks, without requiring installation of a software or hardware at customer premises. The data, containing detailed engineering, financial and administrative information about each truck in operation, is then analysed by the customer over a web interface. As such, customers can increase productivity, improve safety and reduce costs.

Håkan Borglund, CIO at Toyota Material Handling Europe received the prize at the ceremony in London, “Winning this Award for Toyota I_Site confirms that Toyota I_Site is a true global solution – delivering outstanding results to our customers, outperforming alternatives in market and delivering significant value to our customers. The thinking behind Toyota I_Site is that of continuous improvement or Kaizen - one of the core values of the Toyota Way – the corporate DNA that permeates and structures the entire Toyota organisation.”

“Our dedicated in-house IT development team has delivered a solution, which gives our customers the advantage and expertise to turn data into valuable information and decisive action. We will continue to develop Toyota I_Site, continuing our commitment of being world’s number one in material handling,” concludes Borglund.
